Sunday done

Didn’t get the things I wanted to do done today but stayed busy most of the day none the less. Set things up and took the pix of the Sony radio and then cleaned up the Dixie cup holder and did the picture shoot of it. Then did the hour or so each of processing the pix and uploading them then doing the text and putting them in the posts. If I could do the gallery bit it would be a LOT easier but to move the pictures to E-Bay I’ve got to place each one in the post by it’s self and set the link to the image rather than a page which the gallery doesn’t seem to want to do. May try a posting service we found today that makes it easier to do all that but am gonna have to look into it more first prior to spending money to do what we can do already. If it’ll save a lot of time then the $8.00 a month would be worth it. Just gonna have to wait and see.

About dark took a break and fixed and then ate supper. Afterwards got the nights load of wood in. Then spent some time browsing around the net.

Spent the last couple of hours (or more) cleaning and polishing a silver bowl and a silver shell platter. The platter was a real pain though the bowl was a lot more tarnished. Platter took an hour with q-tips just to get all the little groves in the bottom cleaned out. But tis done and both are ready for the pictures. Not gonna try to do them tonight though.

Will see about that tomorrow when the arms and hands are much less fatigued. Am about ready to hit the sack. Will see what the morrow brings when it gets here. Till then…

Vintage Silver Filigree Bathroom Dixie Cup Dispenser/Holder – Sold!

This item is a silver filigree dispenser for 3 oz Dixie cups. It weighs in (with cups and plastic holder) at 1 pound 10 ounces and is in good condition. There is some slight discoloration at the base along with a few small pits where the silver colored plating is gone. The largest of these pits is about an eight of an inch long and a sixteenth wide with the remainder being much smaller. It stands 10 inches high at the top of the plastic holder, just over 9 to the top of the metal surround, and 8 and a half to the top of the support pedestal. The base is 4 inches across and it measures 4 and one half inches from the pedestal to the front of the metal surround. I suspect that it was made in the 60’s but there are no markings and I haven’t been able to locate another one to compare it to. This piece comes complete with the plastic cup holder and some cups. I am not sure how many cups it has with it and have only removed the bottom one to take the picture of. Please note that though it looks to have a gold tint in the pictures that is an artifact of the lighting and this piece is a bright silver.
