Been a around home day. Was going to try to get to Calcis today but we both woke up feeling rough so put it off a day. Been on the computer all day other than for cooking and eating. Not really doing much other than downloading a few things, reading a bit here and there, and listening to some old Sherlock Holmes radio shows.

Fixed a big pot of blackeyed peas and rice with onion, bacon, and Treet canned meat on the woodburner that we had for supper and will have for several more meals this coming week. Cooked a couple of more loaves of bread from the batch of dough I started yesterday. Turned out pretty good. Was a bit tougher than that I made yesterday but had a better fllavor. Gonna have to work on the large bubbles though. Think the dough got too warm while it was out working as I had it by the woodburner to warm it up. Added more flour, salt and water to that that went back in the fridge so will see what the flavor is like tomorrow or the next day, whenever I cook the next batch.

Gonna call it an early night I suspect so till tomorrow… 😉

One Response to “Sunday”

  1. Steve Says:

Had a pretty good Sunday. Went to Sunday school and church, then came home and had lunch/put supper on to cook. Beef roast in a Dutch oven with potatoes, onion, and carrots. Cooking by Benign Neglect, I call it–put it in at a low temperature and ignore for several hours. Works great! Then I tackled the computer center in the computer/craft room. Moved computers around, swapped some hardware, and hooked up another machine to get some files off of. Also somewhat sorted a LOT of paperwork–what fun, what fun. Wound up with things in a better condition, though. Will keep working on it. That was essentially the day.

Today is Monday. Onward and upward! Have a good one!
