Cleaning up hard drives

On all the computers that are working. Cat’s newest (around a year old) 260 gb drive went down yesterday and we have been trying to clean stuff off the other machines to get room to move things onto in case I can get it back up for at least a short time. Has been in the freezer in a vacuum sealed bag since yesterday evening in hopes it will free it up enough to recover at least some of the data. Her last updates are about 2 months old so not as bad as it could be but bad enough. Been burning the unused stuff to dvd’s the deleting it off the drives all day today and most of the day yesterday and the point and click fingers are TIRED. About to hit the sack to get up tomorrow and go at it again so will close till then… 😉

Hard drive failures are a real pain. Even if it happens just as you finish a backup, there’s always SOMETHING that didn’t get saved. Hope things work out for y’all.

Had a pretty good weekend, got some stuff done, and rested up a good bit, which I think was a needful thing. Going to have to get at it today to get all those Macbooks ready to go for tomorrow–they are cloned, but still have to get them moved to the high school and linked to the Airport. Fun, fun, I’m sure.

    Have a good day!

In case you see this first, let me know if you need your cable(s) back to use your firewire drive. Who knows, maybe the Dollar Tree one will work on the drive where it doesn’t on the Macbook target disk mode…
