TGIF but overall a fairly good one

Before I forget, Happy Birthday, Steve! Hope you survived… šŸ™‚

Went and fueled up at the Anniston Wally World this morning. Paid $2.17 9/10s a gal. Went to the Jacksonville Wally World this evening and fuel was $2.16 9/10s when we went in and $2.14 9/10s when we came out. ???

After getting fuel, went to the bank, and swung back by the house as it was REALLY looking like rain, and shut all the electronics off and closed windows, then headed to Rainbow City to take the head to Alabama Cylinder Head Exchange to get it rebuilt. Dropped it off and went by the Rainbow City Library and picked up a few books (like we need more but the price there is too good to pass up and we were in the area anyway so…). From there went to Alabama Thrift Store in Rainbow Plaza to see what they had to offer today. Was about to walk away from the books, as they are using the non-removable stickers on ALL the books now, including the paperbacks, when I saw the mother load (lode?) of Ellery Queen Mystery Magazines. They were marked super low and with a yellow sticker, which today was 70% off! So I got them, all 114 of them, going back to 1956! Not saying how much we paid, but it was a STEAL! Now to go through these and the ones I already have, consolidate the collections and put the extras up for sale. Went to Food World and got a ManHandler sandwich for $5.00 and Cat and I both ate till full and still had about half of it left over for later. Came back and swung by Wally World in Jacksonville and picked up a few things, including 16 cans of corn for a quarter a can, then came home. Am beat, though still wanting to dig through the books. So till later/tomorrow… šŸ˜‰

And Steve, the monitor is still apart and getting no closer as I am going to have to order parts for the power supply (and several others too). Just FYI… šŸ˜‰

  1. Steve Goodwin Says:

Yes, I survived. Thank you. Things are going pretty well, I guess. Had a busy day yesterday, and went to the homecoming ball game at the high school. June bugs were dive-bombing folks there–one committed hari-kari on the earpiece of my glasses–thought some kid had thrown something at me. Weird. About to go do some errands and come back and do some stuff around here.

    Have a good day!
