Sunday at the farm

Have managed to get out and do a little bit around the place (which is more than in a while). Put a few pieces of plastic on the south wall of the trailer to help keep water out. Still got a lot more to go but have the worst of the places covered for the coming rain event. Moved west a bit and added some plastic rain shields at the base of the greenhouse wall. In the same area moved some old wood, rocks, and urbanite into their respective piles and then cleared a pile of dirt out of the walkway I was creating. Laid down some old oak boards and loaded some more trash into the wheelbarrow to move to the disposal area later. Went further west and moved additional stuff out of the way so I can get to the south wall of the bathroom to add additional weatherproofing asap. And called a good hour +’s work. Am now paying for the exertion and doubt I will do much more today.

Prior to this burst of energy, I installed Ubuntu 9.10 beta on this machine, booted into it and started the updates. Also added a pile of KDE4 stuff and it’s been doing the download and install thing for about the last 2 hours. Getting close to being done with the downloads so about time to quit doing anything and let it do the updates, so till later/tomorrow… 😉

One Response to “Sunday at the farm”

  1. Steve Goodwin Says:

Had a pretty good Sunday. Went to church, then went to my mother’s house for a birthday dinner for me and the wife. Had a good meal and a good time there, then went down to Martin’s to do a little clothes shopping. Got what we needed, hit Sonic for drinks, and then went by Lowe’s where I paid off the dryer. Went home and pretty much took it easy the rest of the day.

About to go eat breakfast, and then on to work. Have a good day!
